An opportunity has arisen for a Laundry Team Leader to join our Housekeeping team at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
Supporting to set up the function and role during Pre-Opening phase.
Working closely between the Hotel and our Residences to support any operational needs
To be responsible for the supervision of Laundry Attendants in the sorting of dirty linen to ensure that all the dirty rooms linen is put in the trolleys correctly and the F&B linen and chefs whites are counted and recorded correctly
To be responsible for the control and checking of all linen and uniforms returned and to ensure that all quantities relate to the delivery notes
To ensure that any variances on delivery notes from the laundry are recorded correctly
To control and check quality and standard of work produced by the Laundry
To be responsible for the quality and quantity control of all soft furnishings contracted out and to control all recorded quantity returned
To be responsible for the issuing of all linen to all Departments and to ensure that all issues are correctly recorded
To be responsible for the upkeep of all uniforms, Hotel linen and soft furnishings
Check all items for damage or stains and take appropriate action to rectify these issues
Reports any technical problems or deficiencies to the Laundry Manager or maintenance team
Assist in inventories and attend all departmental training as informed and scheduled by the manager
Assists with other responsibilities and duties in the absence of other teams’ members or other tasks assigned by the manager
Basic tailoring experience or sewing skills
To ensure your uniform is maintained in a good condition
To competently handle any complaints or queries regarding to valet service
To train all Valet members up to the Jumeirah standards
To carry out Valet members appraisals annually
To efficiently organize the smooth running of the department and delegate duties, write rotas etc.
To ensure that stock is kept to the levels agreed with the Laundry Manager
To perform any other duties assigned by the Laundry Manager or Executive Housekeeper
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Ideally Pre-Opening experience, experience on setting up any related systems or structures in the role | department.
Able to work with tight deadlines and under pressure due to intensive preopening phase.
Highschool diploma or general education in Business Administration preferred
