Description

A Rigger is responsible for preparing, securing, and moving heavy loads using lifting equipment such as cranes, hoists, slings, and chains.

The role requires knowledge of lifting techniques, load calculations, rigging equipment, and workplace safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect slings, shackles, chains, hooks, and other rigging equipment before use.

Secure and attach loads safely for lifting and transportation.

Assist crane operators during lifting operations using standard hand signals or radio communication.

Determine load weight, balance, and the appropriate lifting method.

Ensure all lifting activities comply with safety regulations and site procedures.

Guide loads into the correct position during lifting and installation.

Identify potential hazards and report unsafe working conditions.

Maintain rigging tools and equipment in good working condition.

Coordinate with crane operators, supervisors, and other site personnel.

Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies.
