Description

Responsible for working alongside assigned class teacher in delivering a professional childcare service to ensure delivery of the best possible care for children and overall nurturing environment. The person holding this position must have very good understanding of childcare, teamwork customer service and above average communication skills

Responsibilities:

Assist the assigned Teacher in the classroom according to directions and follow the nursery curriculum and policies in order to cover all required areas of learning and development and to maintain high safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Observe developmental changes of children, record individual milestone and exceptional skills, and report new findings to assigned teacher in order to update files and plan for effective and expected outcome.

Check and set up toys appropriate for the particular age group to ensure that utmost safety is followed and prevent unnecessary injuries.
Adapt to any occurring changes in daily or yearly operations updating all documentation and records when needed to ensure the smoothness of the work.
Exercise professional judgment, highest standard of behavior, and act in a courteous manner when interacting with parents, staff and public to ensure open communication with the parents on their child development and progress but exercise confidentiality.
Perform assigned tasks efficiently and effectively with honesty, integrity and fairness at all times in order to make fair and just decisions.

Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness and to collaborate with the team in maintaining hazard free environment to ensure adherence to safety, security and hygiene policy at all times at all areas.
Act in a responsible manner and use the right forms of discipline at all times excluding any form of discipline that includes threat of physical violence or harm, corporal punishment or engage in any form of behavior in order not to cause physical, emotional or psychological harm of any kind to children

Qualifications:

A university degree in Early childhood care or education.
Any other university degree provided that it is combined with accredited certificate in Early Childhood care or education.

General secondary school certificate provided that is combined with an accredited certificate in Early childhood care or education with two-year experience in Early childhood care or education.
Certificates in Pediatric First Aid (International) and Fire Awareness are desirable.
Experience of working with bi/multi-lingual children is desirable.
Experience with children from 0-5 years of age.
3 years of experience in a similar role.
Excellent communication skills in English (in both spoken and written)
Good communication and cooperation skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated ability to think creatively
Flexibility and multi-tasking skills
