About the Role & Opportunity

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Abu Dhabi, UAE team who will be responsible to lead, direct and management accounting, financial planning, cost, budgets and financial reporting to ensure all financial transactions are accounted for, accurate financial information is available to support management decision making.

Responsible for general ledger accounting to ensure that revenues, costs and project expenditures are correctly coded, assets register is maintained and prepaid and accruals are properly recorded

Prepare month-end balances and prepare the reconciliation of accounts

Responsible for the preparation of periodical closures of accounts and reporting
Prepare the monthly financial reports including expenditures statements, variances against budget, commitment reports, income statements, balance sheets, cost center reports, etc., for management and shareholders
Oversee accounts’ payable function and ensure vendors’ and shareholders’ invoices are correctly recorded, verified, processed and approved for payments by due dates
Keep abreast of development in new accounting and reporting standards and propose their adoption where appropriate
Process invoices for payment which system transaction entry, obtain all required documentation and getting the appropriate approvals

Ensure all invoices are submitted with supporting documents scanned and attached with the transaction entry in records
For all blanket Purchase Order, make sure that all the items has been released as within the approved budget & make sure items delivered and claimed are as per the releases
Obtain supplier’s account statement and reconcile balance with any major differences
Coordinate with business units to ensure that invoices are settled within the payment terms and help to obtain required information for payment justification and approval
Ensure compliance with financial authorities, financial policies and procedures
Conduct all work activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times by not taking on any task(s) that are perceived as unsafe
Comply with approved financial policies and procedures, and International Financial Reporting Standards to secure a financially efficient and effective operating performance within approved budgets
Contribute in the decision-making process to provide recommendations and ensures implementation of approved plans

Provide continuous improvements to the customer journey by liaise with different capability stream leads to define opportunity areas

About the Skills, Education & Experience Required

To be considered for this role you will need to have at least 8 - 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably from a leading insurance service provider or an international insurance broker in GCC.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Qualified Accountant CA, ACCA
Proven experience with ERP systems
Knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards
Strong analytical skills and sound understanding of process and transactional flows
Exposure to insurance or broker sectors
Arabic language and writing skills an asset
